A sizzling story of a woman who risks her life and her heart to find a wealthy man’s missing sister—the first novel in a sexy new romantic suspense series from #1 New York Times bestselling author Maya Banks

When Caleb Devereaux’s younger sister is kidnapped, this scion of a powerful and wealthy family turns to an unlikely source for help: a beautiful and sensitive woman with a gift for finding answers others cannot.

While Ramie can connect to victims and locate them by feeling their pain, her ability comes with a price. Every time she uses it, it costs her a piece of herself. Helping the infuriatingly attractive and impatient Caleb successfully find his sister nearly destroys her. Even though his sexual intensity draws her like a magnet, she needs to get as far away from him as she can.

Deeply remorseful for the pain he’s caused, Caleb is determined to make things right. But just when he thinks Ramie’s vanished forever, she reappears. She’s in trouble and she needs his help. Now, Caleb will do risk everything to protect her—including his heart. . . .

~My Thoughts~

Just the other day I saw a tweet on Twitter asking for everyone’s favorite authors and I replied I have too many. Which is true I have more then one favorite author but I must also say that one of my favorite authors is definitely Maya Banks. Why, You may ask? Because, She NEVER disappoints! Every time I pick up a book by her I get sucked in. Once I start I can’t seem to put it down. And again that happened with this one.

I was skeptical at first because I saw a lot of reviews rating it one to three stars and so I first thought oh no I hope I will like this one. I started reading and just 5 pages into the book was a rape victim. I thought oh no I just don’t know if I will be able to read this. Hits too close to home. However, I continued on hoping it wouldn’t be bad. I am glad I continued because I got really into it. Staying up way past my bedtime reading and first thing in the morning picking it back up to read some more. Now I have finished the book and I really liked it. Yes, the rape and murders make me a little uneasy but the rest of the book made those things tolerable. Caleb is a strong male who is hell bent on protecting Ramie and his family. Through the story their relationship blossoms. I love Ramie. She is strong and brave. She just needs to believe the same. This story was just awesome and I loved it. I waited to read it until closer to the release of the second book in this series just in case I was lucky enough to get an ARC of the second one. Well, I was and so now I am going to jump right on in to the second book. I will recommend this to my friends for sure. If you like romance, or are a fan of Maya’s I recommend giving this book at least a chance. I did and it paid off cause I love it!
