Abandoned as a baby to a young wealthy couple and raised in a world of privilege, Arial has no hint of her past or who she belonged to. Her only link lies in the one thing that sets her apart from everyone else—telekinetic powers. Protected by her adoptive parents and hidden from the public to keep her gift secret, Ari is raised in the lap of luxury, and isolation. That is, until someone begins threatening her life.

Beau Devereaux is no stranger to the strange. As the head of Deveraux Security, he’s more than familiar with the realities of physic powers. So when a family friend approaches him about protecting his daughter, he’s more than ready to jump on board. What Beau isn’t prepared for is the extent of his attraction to his beautiful and powerful client. What began as a simple assignment, just another job, quickly turns personal as Beau discovers he’ll do anything at all to protect Ari. Even if it costs him his life.

  From the Back Cover

Arial knows the rules that keep her safe. She’s been following them since she was a little girl: Do not tell. Do not show. But in a moment of terror, facing an attacker intent on taking more than just her life, Ari has no choice but to unleash the psychic powers she’s been hiding since childhood.

Now, with her abilities revealed, a bigger threat looms—something that makes her question everything she thought she knew about her parents and her secretive upbringing. But this isn’t a fight she can face on her own.

As the head of Devereaux Security, Beau Devereaux is no stranger to the strange. But when he takes on a new client—a beautiful young woman with an extraordinary gift—Beau isn’t prepared for the extent of his attraction to her. What began as a simple assignment, just another job, quickly turns personal as Beau discovers he’ll do anything at all to protect Ari. No matter what it costs him personally. Even his heart and soul.

~My Thoughts~

Wow! Now as you all know from my last post Maya is one of my favorite authors. I have LOVED every book of hers I have read and this one doesn’t disappoint! I again stayed up way, way past my bedtime cause I just absolutely could NOT put this book down.

One of my FAVORITE things when it comes to Maya and her trilogy sets is that the first book is always about whatever main character she chooses to start with. For instance, in the first book of this trilogy she started with Ramie and Caleb (I say and because it is not just all about Ramie but Caleb just as much). In the very first trilogy I read the main characters were Josslyn and Dash. However the second book to these trilogy are not just a continuation with the original main characters. They are about different main characters who somehow get tied to another character that was from the first story, tangling it up. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE it! Maya does it in a way that is just incredible. To where by the end of the third book you feel like you have a group of friends who you actually know all about. Not just the one main character(s). I have no idea if what I am trying to put into words and say is actually coming out and meaning what I am trying to mean. Rather then a one or two dimension story you have all the dynamics it’s all one big, huge picture rather then just a piece of the bigger picture. Do you get what I am trying to say or am I just sounding crazy? Cause frankly, I can not tell. So now that I have told you why I like her style, I guess is what I was gushing over, I will actually get to the actual meaning of this post which is the actual book.

I just can’t say enough how much I loved it. I only liked Ari at the beginning because she seemed to needy and too dependant on her parents. However as the story progresses I grew to like her more and more until I finally loved her. It wasn’t an instalove character but one that definitely grew on me. Now if I was in a bad situation and needed help I would definitely want her in my corner. The way she refused to sit back and do nothing. The way she protected Beau and his team/family. Then at the end…… Wow!! Given if I was her I would have done the same thing for my family but yes the end was EPIC!! She grew in the story right before my eyes. From a needy, sheltered little girl to this headstrong, confident, force to be reckon with if you cross her woman. I loved it!! Now the “instalove” in this book that others will likely give a lesser rating for… If I had nowhere to turn, and no one to trust and I found a man willing to protect me and help me I couldn’t say that I wouldn’t have some sort of an emotional connection with him. Love? Admiration? Who knows exactly what it may be but to go from having no hope to someone giving you even a little piece of hope you are bound to develop some kind of feelings toward them. Personally, I fell for my husband really fast in fact so fast instalove is what I would call it. It happens even in real life so why not in some books as well? I heard this song today that would go well with instalove books called Thinking out loud by Ed Sheeran. If you haven’t heard in listen to it. It may persuade you on your opinion about books with instalove in them.

Now I could keep talking about this book forever and ever. In fact this is my longest post to date so far, I believe. So, rather then going on and on and on I will close but before I do. If you like to read you MUST MUST read this book (and of course the first one too)! Especially if you like to read romance but either way: EVERYONE GO READ THIS BOOK NOW!!!!
