Kell is one of the last Travelers–magicians with a rare, coveted ability to travel between parallel universes–as such, he can choose where he lands.

There’s Grey London, dirty and boring, without any magic, ruled by a mad King George. Then there’s Red London, where life and magic are revered, and the Maresh Dynasty presides over a flourishing empire. White London, ruled by whoever has murdered their way to the throne–a place where people fight to control magic, and the magic fights back, draining the city to its very bones. And once upon a time, there was Black London…but no one speaks of that now.Officially, Kell is the Red Traveler, personal ambassador and adopted Prince of Red London, carrying the monthly correspondences between the royals of each London. Unofficially, Kell is a smuggler, servicing people willing to pay for even the smallest glimpses of a world they’ll never see–a dangerous hobby, and one that has set him up for accidental treason. Fleeing into Grey London, Kell runs afoul of Delilah Bard, a cut-purse with lofty aspirations, first robs him, then saves him from a dangerous enemy, and then forces him to spirit her to another world for a proper adventure.

But perilous magic is afoot, and treachery lurks at every turn. To save all of the worlds, Kell and Lila will first need to stay alive–and that is proving trickier than they hoped.

~My Thoughts~

I really enjoyed this book. It was my first book to read by this author and I must say I need to read more of her work. The world building in this is awesome! All four London’s were really interesting. The languages in each London was really cool. It gave each London their own individuality, of course the colors and descriptions did too but this gave It that something extra. That little umph to betterness.

I loved the characters. Lila is definitely my favorite. She is this bad ass chick who just takes charge and doesn’t play around. She does what she needs to to survive be that as it may. She doesn’t seem to have any regrets either. I had a suspicion about her and I was glad to see that I am right in a way. Not sure if I am all the way right because this book didn’t tell me that much but I am right. I can’t wait to read the next book and see if more of my suspicions are right. Although I really like Kell but mainly because he was one of the antari and could travel between the London’s. I loved his relationship with Rhy. He wasn’t a biological brother but a brother nonetheless. I loved how he fought for Rhy and Rhys life. I loved that.

The magic in this story was just awesome. I loved her concept of Magic. Needing a balance of Magic and humanity. Too much of either and it didn’t work.

Overall this book was an amazing adventure! One I am so glad I was apart of. Now WHEN DOES THE NEXT BOOK COME OUT? I NEED IT NOW!! Do yourself a favor if you haven’t already bought and read this book DO IT! DO IT NOW! If you have it but haven’t read it yet WHAT ARE YOU WAITING ON? GET TO IT PRONTO!! Now off you go, go read it now.
