Imagine the worst day of your life. Immerse yourself in the details. How did you feel? Who were you with? What were the consequences?

Recalling my darkest day is as simple as typing a few search terms into a web browser. It only took thirty minutes for me to become the center of a media frenzy that caught the attention of an entire country.

So I hid.

Nine months later and I’m getting better. Moved two hours from home, landed my dream job, and met a delicious new guy.

Healing is that simple, right?

Note: New Point is the start of a standalone series with connected characters, but independent story lines.

My Thoughts:

I actually enjoyed reading this book. After I got it I read a few not good reviews on it. I must definitely not fit in to that group because I actually really enjoyed it. From the beginning she had this secret about what happened to her and I was constatly wondering when she was going to tell Miles. The way he found out was not a way I seen coming. The feelings that are in the book I could feel. I felt the anxiety during the thunderstorms, the uneasiness of the topic of conversations revolving near the exposure of her secrets. I could relate to Zoe not wanting to taint others with her secrets and wanting to be strong. I think until we meet that one that we want to share everything with that we all have secrets. I laughed at Zoe’s jokes, I smiled when she was calm, heck I even cried towards the end. Yes, a real tear really went down my cheeck while reading this book. It was at times sad and I felt it. That’s one of the great things about this book. I love the story line and it was very interesting. I couldn’t put it down. But also what makes this book good is that when it was sad I didn’t just say , “Oh my that sounds sad” , or “Ahhh poor thing,” No when this book was really sad at least at the end I actually had real emotion with it and cried myself. If a book can make me laugh out loud, smile, cry, etc. then it’s definitely a good book.

Final Thoughts:

I throughly enjoyed this book. I will recommend this book to my friends. I would also recommend this book if you are struggling in life with overcoming something or you need to be reminded that we can get through anything. That there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, even if at times it feels like it’s so far off its just a little speck way out in front. We can always get through anything and this book definitely proves that. I am looking forward to the second book in this series. I will definitely be reading it!
