Summary:

They say that the cure for love will make me happy and safe forever. And I’ve always believed them, until now. Now everything has changed. Now. I’d rather be infected with love for the tiniest sliver of a second than live a hundred years smothered by a lie.

My thoughts:

First off I have never read a book like Delirium! Delirium treats love as if it were a life-threatening disease. They say love is the reason for all, or most of all, the other problems. They list side effects to watch out for life it were an infection. They have come up with this vaccination they give you once you are old enough. Lena was born into the world and grew up always believing that love a deadly disease. She couldn’t wait for the day she got vaccinated. Knew exactly how many days it was until that day and counted down each and every one of them, until that is she met Alex. Now she would rather love and risk dieing then be vaccinated. What once she looked forward to she now dreads. I won’t spoil the ending by telling you how it ends but I will say this:…. you won’t see it ending the way it does AT ALL!!! Usually when I hear people say that about a book I picture the book ending one way but then I think back to what I heard others saying about it doesn’t end the way you think it will and so I try to think of a different way it might end. You can do that too. I promise you won’t be able to imagine the way this ends. It left me with so many unanswered questions. I just have to continue reading the others! I believe this book is a must read!!

Final Thoughts:

What every author writes about, love, Lauren Oliver takes and completely twists it all up and it becomes something entirely different. Yes it is about Love but no other love story has ever been done this way, at least not that I have read. I absolutely love it and I know my words definitely Do Not do this story justice so if you haven’t read it I believe you should take the time to for sure! I’m certain you won’t regret it!!
